DIY month-to-month onsies

Just like I documented my pregnancy, I want to document our little man's first year of growth. I decided to make onsies that document his first week, first month, second month and so on up to a year. I thought I would share my process and I am thinking how awesome these would be for a baby shower gift.. hmmm just might have to do that.

Things you will need:

1. (4) 0-3 month onsies
(3) 3-6 month onsies
(6) 6-12 month onsies
2. Iron on transfer paper for light fabrics
3. Scissors
4. Iron

Step 1: Is to make your templates. I used Adobe InDesign to do so, but you could easily use word or photoshop as well. I made one for the first week and then 1 month through 12 months.

Step 2: Print templates on transfer paper {make sure they are a mirror image}

Step 3: You will cut out the design, leaving a small white border around each. Place the first week or the first months which ever one you decide to start with face down on the front of the smallest size onsie.

Step 4: Using a dry iron on the hottest setting, iron the back of the design with firm pressure for 30 seconds or so. Turn the iron halfway through so tip of soleplate is facing opposite direction.

Step 5: Peel off transfer paper immediately. Stretch design outward in direction of fabric grain.

Step 6: Repeat for each month using the appropriate size onsies.

Here we have the end result:

and I had to make a mustache one just for fun
