The Gender Reveal Party

All I can say is what an amazing week it has been. We are truly blessed to say the least. Friday morning we got to experience seeing our little peanut for the first time via ultrasound. It was the most surreal experience, seeing all of its fingers and toes, its adorable lips and small little noes. I will have to say I was a bit nervous, for one not knowing really what to expect, and second just wanting to know that our amazing baby is healthy and everything is developing right. Not only did we find out that our lil peanut is right on track but we also found out the sex {which I will reveal later} my mother and sister-in-law came with us to the appointment and we didn't want them to know the sex since we were going to reveal it the following evening with all our family surrounding us, so once it came to that part of the appointment the technician had them turn around as JD and I couldn't help but hold each others hands and experience this moment together, when that moment arrived and she wrote on the screen what are babies gender was, both of us looked at each other, squeezed our hands together and started crying with joy!! The most amazing feeling overwhelmed the both of us. Saturday January 7th, 2012 this was the day we revealed the babies gender to our family. We had are closest family and a few friends over to reveal the babies gender. The great thing about our family is how involved they are in our lives. They want to be a part of our experiences and want to be there. We LOVE that about our family. We have the best support and overwhelming love that I wish everyone could experience that. We wanted them to be a part this moment. We thank God everyday for the most amazing life. Here are some pictures from our party and at the end of this is an amazing video I put together that shares this with the ones who couldn't be there. One of my favorite pictures in the video is Grandma and Grandpa Jansma via Skype teehee. I Hope you enjoy!!!! xoxo
I made signs for the table. I wanted to incorporate the BEE theme that I had put on the invitations.
Cravings anyone?? I incorporated some of my cravings into the party like Lemonade, Pickles and Popcorn. ha ha
I then made cake-pops that inside revealed the babies gender. PINK or BLUE????
I wanted to document what people thought the gender was, so why not have them put tally marks on the chalkboard? We also decided to have each person write on a piece of paper what they though the gender was, when they think he/she will be born, the weight and the length. Who ever gets the closest when baby is born they will receive a $50.00 Visa gift card!!!! =)
